Concert revelation

Well, yes, apparently I do update my blog about once a month. Yes, Laur, there’s nothing wrong with your computer :p It just so happened that I was about to update it this two days :)

Anyway, I went for Wang Lee Hom’s concert on Saturday. For those who have no idea who he is, he’s a singer, Chinese songs, an ABC. And I’ve been listening to his songs since I was in Secondary school. The concert was great, I could see everything more clearly and there was less disturbance as compared to his first one. He sang really well. And he’s very talented, played the drums, the piano, the guitar, the er hu and the violin. He was trained in violin so that was he’s best instrumental performance.

People did ask me if it was worth the money, I don’t really know if it was but it was definitely a good performance and I enjoyed myself. That’s enough I guess.

However, as I was singing along and having a good time, I felt that something seems to be missing still. It’s different from the times when I was singing along with Stream of Praise or any other Christian groups. The singing at the concert just seemed meaningless. It might sound ‘duh’ to many, ‘isn’t it obvious’? But I suddenly realised through that concert what it meant to worship God.

When I did bible studies about missions and touched the topic on why do we need God, I could not understand why the reason given was that so that we can satisfy our spirits by worshipping and praising Him. It sounded like God’s so narcissistic and He made us so that we will worship Him.

At Lee Hom’s concert, I really felt the difference and how empty it was to being singing for no reason. Worshipping and singing to God is so different, though we are singing unto Him but we are satisfied in our spirits and the emptiness in us is gone. Nothing can replace that.

Also, that is why missions is so important, people need the Lord, we all do. The ultimate goal of missions is not to reach people but so that people can worship Him.

My thought seem to be quite haphazard but yar, God is great! I just want to write down all the thoughts that I have. The concert was good but God is even better (“,)
